• Capital District YMCA 2011 Reach Out For Youth Victory Celebration

     

    In 2011, the Capital District YMCAs Reach Out For Youth scholarship program set out to raise $1,510,000 for children, families and seniors in the Capital District NY.

    On Tuesday, March 15, 2011, the Capital District YMCA hosted its 2011 Reach Out For Youth Victory Celebration at the Albany NY Marriot on Wolf Road. The event honored the hard work of more than 600 volunteer campaingers and 6,130 donors who helped raise $1,533,834 for Reach Out For Youth scholarships.

    Highlights from the victory celebration included a performance by the Giffen Elementary Community Choir and a presentation of our grand total by students from our YMCA Black and Latino Achievers program.

    The Reach Out For Youth scholarship program is the largest fundraising event in the Capital District dedicated to ensuring that no child, family or senior citizen goes without the vital programs and services provided through the Capital District YMCA.

  • Inclement Weather Policy

    The following is an update to the Capital District YMCA's Inclement Weather Policy:

    For your safety, when the branch's  school district closes or has a delay, all programming (including aerobics classes) will be cancelled until noon.  By 2PM, a decision will be made regarding evening programming.

    • Greenbush - No morning classes, School Out program starts at 8am
    • Glenville - No morning programs
    • Guilderland - No morning classes

    • Turchi - Opens at 9am, no classes until noon
    • Troy - No morning classes
    • Southern Saratoga - No morning classes
