Find Out Dates and Register Your Troop Today!

Camp in the Adirondacks!

Bring your troop to Lake George

Camp Chingachgook staff facilitate a full day of activities keeping your troop on the move, playing and learning together. There is time to meet other troops and make new friends. Your troop comes to Chingachgook having already determined which badge to work on. Brownies and Juniors are able to complete all the requirements and leave with a certificate of completion. Cadettes and Seniors can achieve the more intensive outdoor and environmental requirements at Chingachgook under the guidance of our Outdoor Educators. Troop leaders can focus on prerequisites and activities that can be done outside of Camp that involve service, interviews, extended time commitments or more research.

Gain outdoor skills and environmental appreciation

Camp Chingachgook is uniquely located on the crystal-clear waters of Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains and offers an ideal environment for water and land activities. Chingachgook staff are knowledgeable, skilled and trained in outdoor activities. Our staff are excited to share their expertise with your scouts.

Choose your badge

There are four sessions throughout the day to work on badge requirements. We will schedule your specific troop after registration. Please see the list of options below according to your troop’s age level. The availability of some badge activities depends on the number of participants. Please select two choices.

Meet other Scouts

Your troop can meet scouts from other troops with SWAPS (special whatchamacallits affectionately pinned somewhere). Each girl brings 10 – 12 pins to trade. This is a great get-to-know-you activity at the kickoff of Badge Day.

Rates

If your group is less than eight girls, please call Chingachgook for the rate.  There is a standard rate per girl, for troops with eight or more, which includes a hearty, wholesome lunch  and Chingachgook staff for 8 – 15 girls depending on the badge.  We welcome two troop leaders per troop at no charge and additional adults at $10 each. For badges including a session on the climbing tower, high ropes, sailing, canoeing, or kayaking, there is an additional charge per activity. There is an additional fee for the overnight option.  For custom-tailored badges, extended programs or trips for Cadettes and Seniors, please call Chingachgook at 518-656-9462, ext 6644.

Registration

Please use the registration form to register your troop for each visit. Registration is limited, and is on a first-come, first-served basis. A nonrefundable deposit is required to register; the balance is due upon arrival.

Please make checks payable to YMCA and please keep a copy of the registration for your records.

Please select a badge your troop would like to work on from the list of badge offerings. Badges are on a first-come, first-served basis as well, so please choose two.

Overnight Options

Heated cabins with centralized bathhouses are available for reservation by your troop. Small troops may be combined with another troop in a cabin. Junior and higher-level badges may require an overnight.

Friday night's rate is $20 per person and includes lodging in cabins and a Saturday continental breakfast. Please arrive 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday night is $30 per person and includes Saturday dinner, lodging in cabins, a Sunday continental breakfast and departure after breakfast. Troop leaders and chaperones conduct and supervise evening programs. Chingachgook provides outdoor campfire areas and a bundle of firewood.
