Swim Lessons - Youth (Age 6-12)

In this stage participants focus on forward movement in water and basic self-rescue skills performed independently. It focuses on exploring the water and personal skills without instructor help, developing basic skills to propel and glide through the water without instructor help, and learn basic water and boat safety and accepting some responsibility for safe practices. Without assistance from the instructor (flotation may be used), participants are working on submerging, front and back glide, front and back float, water exit, jump-push-turn-grab, treading water, rolling, and swim-float-swim.
