Chef-In-Training

Southern Saratoga YMCA

Let us inspire your growing gourmet cook with an introduction to cooking vocabulary, techniques, utensils, basic etiquette, safety, nutrition and international foods.
Kitchen tasks provide math and science lessons as children measure, count and see food change as it’s cooked. Cooking also builds children’s self-esteem and skills of independence. Children who may be apprehensive about trying new foods or dishes are more willing to taste foods they help prepare. Food is a sensory experience that helps children develop hand/eye coordination, memory, language, math and science skills. All food is included in the cost of class.
Class meets in the kitchen.
