Y's Time Before and After School Program

Before and After School Care
The programs are held in the school cafeterias and classrooms and include nutritious snacks, outdoor play, games, arts and crafts, homework time, gym time and kid choice activities. The children are placed in their appropriate age groups and the activities are structured to meet their developmental needs. A caring staff, trained in school age childcare, work with the groups of children. The child/adult ratio is 10:1. Y's time programs are registered with the NYS Department of Social Services and licensed with the Office of Child and Family Services.  The daily activities that the children participate in are the following choices:  Indoor and Outdoor Recreation, Daily Arts and Crafts, Homework, Snack, Character Development and Creating and making New Friends.  The Albany YMCA operates in the Albany School District for Elementary age children for before and after school care.  We also offer Pre-K programs at Eagle Point, TOAST, and Pine Hills. The Albany YMCA also began a before-school program at Pine Hills that runs from 7am-9am. This is also the first full year we are offering an after-school program at Albany Community Charter School and Brighter Choice Charter School.
