Though Segowea continued to host campers from primarily Poughkeepsie and Dutchess County, as word spread of its amazing potential to affect children in positive ways, more and more families from the wider region began sending their children to camp.

Pictured below left, former Director Beth Hodos led camp from 1987-2004. Not since Segowea’s first Director Frank Van Ness has someone led camp with such tenure. With her huge heart, Beth shaped the culture at Segowea to appreciate everyone for who they are, truly making camp a home away from home for all.
