The Capital District YMCA offers a free and unique program for teens in junior high and high school.

Our Black & Latino Achievers Program welcomes students from all backgrounds, and helps them develop skills, raise their academic standards, graduate from high school and focus on career goals.

Members of the Achievers Program are provided with the opportunity to set exciting career and education goals, and get the help they need to achieve those goals.  Achievers meet new people and try many new, worthwhile experiences including:

For 7th-12th graders and their parents

Please join us for the Capital District YMCA’s Black and Latino Achievers Career and College Connections Summit.

Students will create career biographies and discuss writing strategies for college essays, ending the day with a tour and hike of a local preserve. Transportation will be provided with completion of registration/permission slips; light refreshments will be served.

Hosted by the College of St. Rose in partnership with the Albany Chapter Adirondack Mountain Club.
