Emergency Childcare Services

During these unprecedented times, the Capital District YMCA is responding to the critical need for childcare services for essential workers.

We have extended care to cover “essential” workers. In addition to licensed health professionals such as physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, LPNs, there are many other “essential” workers.

For the complete list, please check here.

The Y has also partnered with several other organizations, such as the Victory Church and Guilderland School District and is providing food for children in Greenbush and Guilderland.

The YMCA has changed lives for the better over the course of our 163-year history in the Capital District. We expect to continue to do so, regardless of the challenges we are currently facing. Throughout the Y’s history, we have been called upon in times of crisis, conflict and strife to provide critical services. We ask for your ongoing support of our efforts during this trying time.

Support Our Better Together Fund

As the leading provider of childcare and one of the most relied upon charities in the Capital Region, this is undoubtedly the greatest need that the Capital District YMCA can fill for our community. We are working in partnership with health care providers, hospitals, state officials, and community leaders as this has been identified as a priority in this time of crisis.

You can make direct and immediate impact by donating today to our new BETTER TOGETHER FUND to keep YMCA childcare centers open, and convert YMCA branches, to provide safe, high-quality care to hundreds of children at Y program sites throughout the Capital Region, including children in grades K-5 who are currently out of school.
