FAQs Regarding Opening Our Pools
Are face coverings required?
Acceptable face coverings, that cover the nose and mouth, are required upon entry and exit of every area of our facility.
What steps are you following to ensure the safety of our members?
We are frequently cleaning and sanitizing all high-touch points. We are requiring face coverings and social distancing for members while entering and exiting the facility.
Are private swim lessons available? If so, how do I register?
Private swim lessons are available. Please click here to fill out a private swim lesson request form.
Will other Y pools be opening soon?
We are working to open as much as we can as quickly as we can while keeping our members safe and with our limited resources.
How do I register for group lessons?
Registration for classes is online. Please check here.
Why are group lessons limited?
To be able to offer lessons, we must follow NYS social distancing requirements, which limits swim lesson participation in order to keep members safe.
What programs are we offering in the pool area?
We are able to offer lap swimming, group lessons and private swimming lessons. Following NYS COVID-19 safety requirements, we are operating with limited in capacity.
How do I reserve a spot for lap swim?
All reservations must be completed online. Due to safety and capacity requirements, walk-in registration is not available.
Are locker rooms available for changing and storage?
Locker rooms are not available at this time. There will be designated entry and exit points for swimmers. Designated bathrooms will also be available.
Will sauna, steam, and whirlpools be open?
Due to social distancing and face covering requirements, these areas remain unavailable.
How do I know what class to register my child for?
Please click here and answer the questions we have provided, to determine the most appropriate class for your child.
If your child has taken lessons with us, but did not complete them, we recommend registering your child for the last stage your child attended.
What’s the Y doing to ensure NYS air handling and chemical requirements are met?
We’re using NYS-approved MERV-13 filters for our air handling units. As we have always done, we continue to adhere to Department of Health (DOH) standards regarding chemical level requirements.
What should I expect when I come to the Y?
Before your first visit, you must acknowledge and sign our new Code of Conduct. You can complete that now by clicking here.
Upon arrival at the Y, all members complete a health screening process and you’re your temperature taken. Members are checked in using your membership card or on your phone. Following check in, you will report to the pool area and your reserved lap lane.
