Monday – Thursday: 5:30am - 9pm

Friday: 5:30am - 7pm

Saturday & Sunday: 7am - 1pm  


Holiday Schedule

We’re closed on the following holidays: Easter, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor Day, and Christmas Day. 

Please watch for announcements regarding our schedule for these holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.


Children Welcome

Children are welcome at the Y according to the following guidelines:

30-Day Guarantee

Your complete satisfaction is our goal at the Capital District YMCA. Toward that end, we’re pleased to offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee when you join. If you’re unhappy with your membership, please let us know and we’ll gladly refund your money, including the joiner’s fee.

We Offer Financial Assistance

At the Capital District YMCA, we welcome individuals from all socioeconomic backgrounds and never turn you away because you cannot afford our membership, programs, or services. To help those with financial need, we have an Annual Campaign scholarship program which is funded by caring members of our community. For more information, please ask at the front desk, or call 518.869.3500 and select the option for Membership Services. 


Joiner Fees

The joiner’s fee is $50, and $25 for youth (14-18 years old) memberships.

These are our monthly rates for membership. Membership rates include only the group ex studio and wellness center. Metabollic conditioning classes in the performance studio are extra.

Membership Benefits, Privileges, and Facility Features

As a member of the Capital District YMCA, you enjoy many opportunities to live a healthier, happier life. Our wellness center offers treadmills, bikes, rower, free weights and a variety of weight machines. We also offer:

Community Rate Option

The Capital District YMCA is a non-profit service-focused organization committed to the health and well-being of our members. 

At the Y, in addition to our full-facility membership option, we offer most of our programs to our community members. Full-facility members enjoy access to all our branches and group exercise programs. You can enroll in most of our programs by paying the non-member rate for each program you take, except for group exercise classes, which are a benefit of being a full-facility member.     


Convenient Methods of Payment

Automatic Withdrawal / Safe and Convenient

Monthly payments are withdrawn from your checking or savings account, or your debit/credit card is charged. The joiner’s fee and pro-rated cost for your first month of membership are due when you join. There is no contract to join, and we will stop your monthly payments (with 30 days notice) once we receive your written request. We accept check, or credit card. When you pay for a full year, the amount you owe includes the pro-rated cost for the current month, and the joiner’s fee.


Guests Are Welcome

Each YMCA membership includes unlimited guest passes.

Each guest can visit up to two times for free per calendar

year. After two free visits, guests are encouraged to jointhe Y.

Members may bring up to 2 guests at a time.

Albany guests who’ve used their two free passes (and drop-in visitors) have these Day Pass options:

  • Adult $15
  • Family $35 (2 Adults w/Children)

In case of an emergency and for the security of our members, all guests over the age of 18 need to provide a valid photo ID when visiting. Guests complete a guest waiver the first time they visit. Guests under the age of 18 must have their parent / guardian complete and sign the guest waiver form prior to entering the YMCA.


Membership Holds

We offer a hold which covers up to 4 months. Please submit your request in writing 30 days before your leave of absence. Your membership is automatically re-activated once your hold expires.


Refund Policy

Refunds and credits are offered when approved by a branch Executive Director. Please provide your request in writing. Refunds and credits aren’t issued once you attend two or more classes unless you have a medical reason. Please provide a note from your doctor. Credits are good for one year and valid at any branch. If we have to cancel a program, we will gladly provide a refund. 


Cell Phone/Camera Policy

Visual recording devices (recorders, cameras, etc.) are not allowed without the express consent of each branch Executive Director. Anyone taking pictures of another person without that person’s permission and knowledge will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and membership may be terminated. Cell phones are permitted in the lobby and for listening to media content (with headphones) during personal workouts.


Your Membership Travels with You

The YMCA’s National Reciprocity Program welcomes you to thousands of YMCAs across the country. In addition, Capital District YMCA members are welcome to use all of our association’s branches. Please join that branch you will use most often. Not valid with SilverSneaker memberships.


Volunteer Opportunities

Please consider volunteering with the Y. Though not paid in dollars and cents, you’ll be richly compensated with the satisfaction of helping others. Visit our volunteer portal today to become a volunteer.

YMCA360 is the name of our new 24/7 access to 500+ on-demand virtual classes. Y360 is free for our full-facility members.
