Event Details:

  • What is the date and time of the event?
    • Sunday, September 29th. The event runs from 10:00am-1:00pm. Nature’s Loop race starts at 10:15am and has staggered start times. Fun run begins at noon. 
  • Where is the event?
    • Elm Avenue Park, 261 Elm Avenue, Delmar NY 12054
  • Where is the starting point of the trail run?
    • The field behind the large pavilion at Elm Avenue Park as indicated on the map
  • What is the distance for the trail run?
    • The Nature’s Loop trail run is approximately 2 miles. View the map here.
  • What is the distance for the fun run?
    • The fun run is .4 miles. View the map here.
  • Is there a time limit for completing the run?
    • Before the end of the event at 1:00pm 

Registration:

  • How can I register for the event?
  • What is the registration fee?
    • The registration fee is $25 per family or individual.  Family registrations are for those that live within your household. 
  • What is included in the registration fee?
    • Each family will receive a “swag bag” of items and entry to the event.
  • Is there a deadline for registration?
    • Thursday September 26th
  • What is the refund policy if I cannot attend?
    • 100% refund with 7 days’ notice.  With 6 days or less notice, there will be no refunds provided.

 Course Information:

  • Can I see a map of the course? 
    • You can view the map here
  • Are there medical aid stations or personnel on the course? 
    • EMS will be on site for the event. There will also be event staff and volunteers with first aid kits stationed in various places around the event. 

Logistics:

  • Where can I park on race day?
    • Parking is in the tennis court parking lots in the front of Elm Avenue Park and in the pool and office parking lots. See the parking locations marked with a P on the event map
  • Will there be any road closures or restricted areas on the day of the race?
    • Access to the back of Elm Avenue Park will be closed to the public on the day of the race. See “Vehicle access closed for event” section on the map.
  • Will there be restrooms at the start/finish line and along the course?
    • Restrooms are located throughout the park at the large pavilion, warming area, and porta johns near the playground. There are no restrooms on the 2-mile route. 
  • What time should I arrive on race day?
    • We encourage racers to arrive at 9:45am. The race kicks off at 10:15am 
  • Will there be a pre-race email?
  • Yes, everyone will receive an email a few days before the event with updates and news to share.

On-the-Day Information:

  • What do I need to bring with me on race day?
    • Comfortable clothes, athletic sneakers, water bottle.
  • Is there a pre-race briefing?
    • Yes, we will gather participants near the pavilion to announce the day’s timeline over the PA.
  • What happens if there is bad weather on race day?
    • This is a rain or shine event.  

Post-Race Information:

  • Will there be food and drinks available after the race?
    • Fruit and water will be available for the racers under the large pavilion. Food trucks will be on site for food purchases.
  • Is there a post-race party or celebration?
    • There will be an inflatable obstacle course for children under 12 to enjoy and yard games for all to enjoy. 
  • How and when can I see the race results?
    • This event is not timed. No results will be posted. Just have fun!

  • Is the event accessible for participants with disabilities?
    • The fun run takes place on an accessible route. An available access route to the event can be found by parking in the tennis court parking lots and following the paved path to the back of the park. 
  • Can I bring my dog or pet to the event?
    • Please refer to the Park rules regarding dogs in Town parks.
