BOCES Preschool

The BOCES Preschool program is an OCFS-licensed program that is offered five days a week and provides a nutritional breakfast and afternoon snack. Children are provided with an opportunity for afternoon rest time following lunch.

During the day, children have opportunities for independent play and small and large group activities with teachers and peers. We offer center-based play with learning built into each center. The teachers develop weekly themes and activities based on the child's interests. We use the Creative Curriculum and continually assess the child's developmental growth.

The children have unique opportunities to participate in learning programs at the BOCES Career and Technical Education Center. Children join in culinary opportunities of making their own lunch, therapy dogs visit the class, and the cosmetology class provides glam days. We also benefit from helping educate and being educated by future Early Childcare educators.

We maintain open lines of communication with parents and schedule parent-teacher conferences twice a year to discuss the child's development. Our preschool uses the TADPOLES application to deliver daily sheets, daily needs, and emergency notifications.
