Jazmin

Jazmin, Senior Program Director

Jazmin started working for the YMCA in 2017, starting in Childcare. She holds a B.S in Human Physiological Sciences from Skidmore. She has been an athlete most of her life playing softball and later on, Track and Field. It was during Track that she found her true passion for fitness in powerlifting and working out.

Ian

Ian Engel, Wellness Coordinator

Ian joined the Y in 2021 as a group and yoga instructor. He's been a personal trainer since 2014, working at Equinox in Manhattan, NYC, and the Independent Training Spot in NYC while competing as a strongman competitor, becoming nationally qualified in 2015. Since moving to upstate NY, Ian has been pursuing teaching yoga and helping people find the best versions of themselves. Ian holds a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and is currently a Blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Marissa

Marissa joined the Y in 2013 after earning her Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science. She worked as a personal trainer and lifeguard while earning another Bachelor’s Degree, in nutrition. During that time, she resumed taking karate classes, achieving a brown belt, and started running 5Ks. Just recently, she obtained a new certification as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.

Michelle

Michelle

Michelle has always been active, whether it’s cross-training, running on trails, strength training with weights, or bodybuilding. Currently, Michelle’s passion and focus are on bodybuilding and strength training. She is a member of the Organization of Competitive Bodies and has competed in several events where judging is based on physique, confidence, and stage presence. Michelle has competed in both Bikini and Wellness Divisions. Michelle has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a Minor in Psychology from SUNY Albany.

Brian

Brian has been a lifelong athlete, participating in basketball, soccer, track and field, and taekwondo. In his time in taekwondo, Brian achieved a USA Taekwondo national rank in the top 15 of the bantamweight division, and as a coach, has trained 5 National Champions. His love for athletics has given him the passion to teach and coach others.

Cameron Khoury

Cameron joined the Y in June of 2024. He has experience playing many sports, including basketball, soccer, golf, and baseball, and has been training in the gym for 3+ years. Cameron intends to bring his experience in the gym and sports realm into my personal training to fulfill the wants of his clients at the best of his ability.

Michael Cornell

Michael joined the YMCA in 2025 after earning his Bachelor's Degree in Health Promotion and Wellness Management with a minor in Nutrition from SUNY Oswego. Over the years, he has participated in soccer, volleyball, and track and field. His passion for exercise and health improvement has led him into the personal training world to help others meet their health goals.

Ryan Schroeck

Ryan joined the YMCA in 2025 and is a current police officer with 13+ years in law enforcement, as well being an Army veteran. Ryan is passionate about fitness and helping others. Ryan has experience running competitive races, ranging from 5K's to ultramarathons, and recently placed 1st for his marathon's age group.

Kalyani

Kalyani has been a personal trainer for 5 years. She specializes in helping women start their strength training journey. She is an avid Cricket and badminton fan and leads a women's cricket team in the Capital region. Kalyani holds a Master's degree in Communication and enjoys reading and writing.

Krista

Krista is a Certified Personal Trainer and Barre Instructor, BLS/CPR Certified, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy student (May 2026). She is passionate about helping people move better and train safely for life and sport. Krista has played semi-professional women’s tackle football and competes in flag football, enjoys pickleball, and has a strong interest in many other sports, which shapes how she coaches and connects with others.

In over ten years of working in the "soft tissue" movement, I've been involved with countless transformative life stories, and I am continually honored. I am a mother of two energetic and athletic boys. In our spare time, we love to spend time on saltwater (and freshwater!), fishing, playing flag football, and sharing Stewart's cookies 'n creme milkshakes!
