CAMP CHINGACHGOOK SEEKS VOLUNTEERS FOR VOLUNTEER CLEAN-UP DAY

KATTSKILL, NY — YMCA Camp Chingachgook is asking for volunteers to join them for a day of service at the camp to prepare for the upcoming season.

On Sunday, May 22, from 9:30 am to 5 pm, volunteers will gather at the site to rake leaves, clear brush, wash boats, and clean out cabins for the upcoming season. Volunteers will work to help preserve and maintain the camp for generations to come. Chingachgook will provide cleaning items and lunch. Volunteers are encourage to bring layers and gloves, as they will be outside all day.

Campers have been coming to the grounds since 1912 to escape the city and enjoy the natural beauty in the Adirondacks. Camp Chingachgook is one of the oldest children’s camp in the United States; over 350,000 children have attended programs at the camp. The camp is expected to host several thousand campers this year.
