Christopher T. Visker, of Guilderland, New York, passed away on February 25th after a brief illness. He was born on March 8th, 1967, the son of Mary Clare Visker and the late Edward W. Visker. He was one of seven siblings. Chris attended Guilderland High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Siena College.
Chris married Kelly (Williams) Visker in 1997, and together they raised three children. Chris was passionate about his family. They meant everything to him, and it was evident in everything he did. He had a wonderful sense of “Dad” humor, often resulting in loving eye rolls from his family. Chris was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He also loved the Grateful Dead and attended many concerts in his youth. Chris worked many years at GE and was the visionary behind Knowledge Builders Inc. run side by side with Kelly and long-time friends Sanjay and Nirupama Kapalli.
Chris is survived by his wife, Kelly Visker, his daughter Ashley Visker, his son Grant (Lily) Visker-Hughes and his son Zachary Visker (Kay Magennis). He was predeceased by his father, Edward W. Visker, and his brothers Edward Visker and Patrick Visker. In addition to his wife and children, Chris is survived by his mother Mary Clare Visker, and his brothers Michael (Kitti) Visker, Derek (Gabriela) Visker, Kirsten (Bob) Baker, and Kathleen (Eric) Rutledge. He is also survived by his sister-in-laws Kerri-Lynn (Steve) Kimner, Cyndy Visker (Edward R), Candie Boyt (Patrick) , brother-in-law Kevin Williams, father-in-law Harold Williams, and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be Thursday, March 6th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Tpke, Guilderland. The service will be Friday, March 7th at 10:00 AM at McKownville United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Camp Chingachgook Alumni Association, The Guilderland Elks Major Projects fund, or the McKownville United Methodist Church, memorials and gifts fund.
